We went years ago, had milky clam chowder that was missing the clams, my husband was served pancakes that were burnt on one side with overcooked bacon, and I made the mistake of ordering their dried out lobster pie that was nothing but frozen lobster meat and cracker crumbs. I'm a chef. But, some friends talked us into going again about a year ago and, although they didn't burn the food, I really can't say it's good. Maybe you're supposed to bring your own spices. The staff really doesn't seem to know how to pay attention to details, like refilling my empty beverage when they served our dinners,(duh)or dropping off the check and showing us where to pay, not even with a "Thank you, come again".

The Maine Diner has great food and never lacks lines. The menu is exstensive using the best of ingredients. The saying you get what you pay for applies. The prices are not diner prices, but it is great tasting. The clam chowder is smooth and tasty.

Don't believe the hype!! We have eaten here several times over the last several years and it gets worse each time. The food has always been sub par but the last 3 times our food was overcooked, cold, or just plain disgusting. The servers are inattentive. I dropped my fork and the waitress looked right at it and walked away. Hello, customer service? I actually had to get up and ask someone for another, and she acted like it was the most inconvenient thing she had to do! Not only are you packed in like sardines, literally sitting on top of the people next to you, but having another waitresses' rear end in my face while she chatted with the table next to us as we tried to eat our dinner was the worst. This place is completely classless, the Phantom Gourmet is a buffoon, and if this is the food their grandma used to make, I'm glad I didn't grow up in that family. I'd rather eat dirt!!

This restraunt is a great casual place to take your family. We just recently went there for the first time for breakfast. The food was fantastic! The portions where very big, and it came piping hot. Our coffee cups were always full. The downside to this place is that we found it to be a bit pricey for breakfast, but it was worth it. We paid $25, including tip for 2 adults and a child. We shared with our son so all we ordered him was a chocolate milk. So $25 was for two meals, an extra drink, and tip. A little more than we wanted to spend, but I think we will definately go back for the great food!
